UAS4EUROPE publishes position paper on the future of the EU Framework Programme
On 6 March 2024, the network of Universities of Applied Sciences in ERA (UAS4EUROPE) published its position paper on the future of the EU Framework Programme for R&I. The paper outlines a vision for FP10, highlighting how UAS can be empowered to become even more impactful contributors to the success of European research, innovation and competitiveness.
The position paper highlights 10 strategic recommendations for shaping the future of European R&I funding, including specific institution-type training and instructions of project evaluators to acknowledge the complementary importance of basic and applied research across the entire knowledge and innovation value chain. UAS4EUROPE supports the introduction of societal readiness levels (SRL) in calls touching innovations that require societal acceptance, i.e. in areas of technology deployment and climate mitigation measures. The network joins the calls from other policymakers and stakeholder organisations to allocate a budget of € 200 billon to FP10.
