2026 call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships is open
The European Commission has launched the 2026 call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships. The call budget is €399.05 million to support excellent research and researcher mobility worldwide.
The fellowships are open to researchers holding a PhD who wish to conduct research abroad, broaden their expertise across disciplines and sectors, and acquire new skills. Successful applicants will work with leading scientific teams, strengthening the EU’s competitiveness through cutting-edge research. The call will close on 9 September 2026.
Since their inception in 1996, the MSCA have supported more than 150,000 researchers, including 23 Nobel laureates, underlining the programme’s long-standing contribution to scientific excellence, talent development, and international cooperation.
This call is part of more than €1.25 billion earmarked for the MSCA in 2026 under Horizon Europe 2021–2027, in line with the ‘Choose Europe’ initiative to promote Europe as a hub of research and innovation. The MSCA will continue to fund doctoral and postdoctoral programmes, individual research fellowships, and collaborative research and innovation projects.
In 2026, the programme will also celebrate its 30th anniversary under the motto '30 years of curiosity that changes the world'. Throughout the year, a series of activities will showcase the programme’s impact on research careers, featuring stories, milestones and community contributions on a dedicated anniversary webpage. Highlights include an interview with Prof. Dr. Hélène Langevin-Joliot, granddaughter of Marie Skłodowska-Curie, among other anniversary events.
