EIC Board publishes statement on FP10 negotiations
The EIC Board has published a statement on the Horizon Europe (2028-34) negotiations. In its paper, the EIC Board broadly welcomes, albeit with some caution, the adoption of the Council’s Partial General Approach (PGA) of Horizon Europe and the ECF. This caution stems from the need to properly clarify and prepare for the implementation of the many novel elements in the Commission’s proposal and the Council PGA, the EIC Board finds. To ensure effective EIC support for deep-tech innovation, the Board reiterates the need to address the following issues:
- Support high-risk, high-impact deep tech innovations with agility and a strengthened Programme Manager role
- Ensure the integrity of the EIC Fund
- Support dual use and defence technologies
- Provide budget, resources and synergies .
The EIC Board hopes that the remaining discussions will address the outstanding points as the remaining months of 2026 will be critical for achieving stability on the legal and financial framework for the future EIC.
