European institutions agree roadmap to achieve 'One Europe, one Market' by end of 2027
On the sidelines of the Informal Meeting of Heads of State or Government in Cyprus, the Council Presidency and the Presidents of the European Parliament and the European Commission signed the 'One Europe, One Market' roadmap. This agenda identifies a set of concrete measures across five areas to be addressed urgently in order to boost European competitiveness and enhance the EU's strategic autonomy and economic security, sustaining Europe’s prosperity and social model. The areas are as follows:
- Deepen and integrate the single market
- Further simplify rules and reduce administrative burdens
- Ensure affordable energy and achieve the energy transition
- Foster Europe's industrial renewal, innovation and reduce dependencies
- Mobilise investment.
EU leaders will regularly review progress on all the strands, and provide additional strategic guidance when needed.
